Best drugstore contour palette?!

June 27, 2017

Looking for a drugstore contour kit? Look no further than the Revlon X Chloe Morello Shade and Hightlight Contour Kit*. This baby has been my go-to for the last 6 months since it first came onto the market in Australia. Keep reading if you want to check out my review and swatches of the powders.

Let's start with the packaging. A sleek, black compact with a high quality mirror inside, this is a traveller dream contour kit. With only four shades, it is a fool proof way to snatch your base without over complicating things. To help with different skintones, Revlon released two versions; a light/medium and a medium/dark - I of course picked up the light version!

Inside the palette is a light yellow banana shade to help brighten under the eyes. This powder is extremely soft and smooth and because it is a pale yellow, it doesn't tend to leave a yellow tinge like other brightening powders I've used.

The second light shade of the palette is meant to be a highlight shade. This is a soft champagne glow colour, however, this one doesn't pack a punch. The powder is soft and creamy, but it doesn't give an intense, blinding glow. This is good for everyday, but not for when you want to shine to the Gods.

The first of the contour shades is a warmer bronzer colour. This is gorgeous for creating soft definition around the face. Again, the quality of the powder is incredible - smooth, creamy and pigmented.

The final shade of the palette is a cooler toned contour shade to really help chisel out the cheekbones. It is the perfect colour for my pale girls to create a natural and realistic looking shadow as it isn't too harsh and blends out like a dream.

Did you pick up the Revlon contour kit? You can get yours from Priceline for $24.95 here.

Till next time...

  1. Great review, I've heard mixed things about this palette but it seems like you really love it. I'll have to see if I can find one and swatch for myself as I'm pretty pale and find it hard to get the right shades.
