Innoxa Renew Age Erase Serum Foundation review + demo
November 16, 2014
I was sent a bottle of the Innoxa Renew Age Erase Serum Foundation* agggges ago and have been using it quite regularly, and in short I'm super impressed.
First let's get some things straight.
- I am pale as all hell
- Oily skin - no major dry areas just generally oily all over
- Prefer the matte appearance
- Have intense freckles on my face which I like to cover
- Regular pimples and red/purple markings
- Large pores around nose and cheeks
At first, I was a bit worried about the "serum" in the foundation as I automatically link that to oil and dewiness.
P.S Excuse the damn unflattering photos that are about to show - no eyebrows, no other makeup other than foundation!
I have some massive positives to quickly point out about the packaging of the foundation. Firstly there is a pump. Hallelujah. Why don't more companies come out with pumps?! It's so easy and produces a decent sized amount when dispensed. Second, the packaging is plastic! What does that mean? It means that if you are clumsy person (mwa) you don't end up smashing the entire bottle on the ground if you accidentally knock it!
The only downside is that it is sooo hard to find the shade name on the bottle. It literally took me 5 minutes to find it! In case you are wondering, it is written on the barcode stick on the side with the ingredients!
The formula of this foundation is quite moussy. Unlike the Loreal True Match which is quite thin in consistency, the Innoxa Renew foundation has a bit of thickness and has quite a dense feel when applying to the face. However, on the skin it melts in and you don't feel any heaviness after application.
A weird thing I noticed is that the foundation has a scent. It reminds me of a green apple scent. Not unpleasant, just a bit odd for a foundation. Something that I can personally overlook, but if you aren't keen on scented products you might want to consider that!
As you can see in the above photos the Innoxa Renew foundation has amazing coverage. This was a light layer and the majority of the discolouration and freckles are covered and smoothed out. The finish isn't completely matte with a slight satin natural finish which I really enjoy. It did a fantastic job of covering up the slight red and purple marks on my chin from acne
As a silicone based foundation, I find it does a fantastic job at filling in the pores on my nose and the little wrinkles I have around my face. If you zoom in on the first picture, you can pretty much see the half of my nose with the foundation has got no visible pores but the side without has obvious pores. Definitely impressed!
Just a side note: The colour used above is a mixture of two shades and wasn't the right colour match (woops!)
This foundation, after powdering, lasts a good 4-6 hours with no touch ups. It does get oiler as it isn't a matte foundation, so a good powder or blotting paper is needed.
Overall I've been so impressed with this foundation! I haven't really tried too much from Innoxa so wasn't really sure what to expect from it, but I am definitely very impressed with it.
Have you tried the Innoxa Renew Age Erase Serum Foundation before?

Thanks for this review. My skin tends to be on the oily side as well, so certain products either suit me or not! :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯
ReplyDeleteGreat Review! I have been looking at this foundation but had the same thought as you when I read "Serum" as an oily girl I don't need to add anymore hahaha I will have to go and pick this baby up!

Exactly! But it is seriously quite matte, if not slightly natural appearance! One of my favourites now!

Green apple scented? Sounds yum haha. I have huge pores on my cheeks and forehead, so this sounds really nice in hiding them!

Such a random scent for a foundation, hey?! But oh well, doesn't frustrate me at all!
