September Beauty Favourites 2014

October 02, 2014

Firstly, can I just say what the hell?! When did we get into OCTOBER? Like... there is only three months to go for 2014. I have about 4 weeks of uni left for the year. Crazy. Anyways, as usual I have my monthly beauty favourites. I have tried to curb my spending lately and make the most of the products I have at home so expect for the next couple of months to be current collection type posts!

Let's jump straight into what I've been loooovin'!

NYX Taupe, Essence Bloom Me Up!, MUG Peach Smoothie

NYX Powder Blush in Taupe: It took me forever to track this shade down because unfortunately they didn't bring it to Target when they started stocking NYX (I don't understand why because it's one of their most popular items?). It's basically a fantastic contour shade for my chubby cheeks. It isn't too warm and gently creates a shadow where I want to add one. I don't find this one powdery at all, unlike their regular blush shades.

Essence Bloom Me Up! Highlighter: Essence has an amazing range of affordable products but they seriously have AMAZING highlighters. This highlighter is part of their newest collection and it is a soft pinky, champagne highlighter. When swatched it doesn't have crazy glitter just adds a subtle glow to the face. Been reaching for this instead of my regular highlighters.

Makeup Geek eyeshadow in Peach Smoothie: I just did a review of my little MUG collection here and I talked about this one and mentioned it was one of my favourites. I have literally used this everyday. It makes a fantastic transition colour and is so easy to blend. It's a soft peachy orange shade.

DUO eyelash glue, NARS Sheer Glow, Beauty Blender
DUO Dark-tone Eyelash Glue: I had some cheap eyelash glue from Kmart and it didn't really do much. I always felt my eyelashes would come off or that it would make my eyes water. I purchased this one a couple months ago and finally decided to start wearing the pile of falsies gathering in my draw and I was pleasantly surprised. It went tacky faster than my other one and held on!

NARS Sheer Glow in Deauville and Beauty Blender: It's not secret I absolutely love this foundation but this month I have been obbbbsessed with it. Particularly with my Beauty Blender! It provides an amazing flawless coverage and looks so smooth on my face! I understand the hype with the Beauty Blender now and adore using it for my foundation!

MAC Myth, Whitening Lightning/Gerard Cosmetics Coral Craze
MAC Myth lipstick: I don't really own any nude lipstick from MAC and I decided to purchase this one on recommendation from the lovely Nikki Tutorials! It is a little too light for my complexion, but paired with a either a lip liner or a coloured gloss it looks amazing on. Perfect everyday nude! This one is super smooth and soft on the lips.

Whitening Lightning / Gerard Cosmetics Coral Craze lipgloss: I'm soooo glad I purchased this lipgloss. It is the perfect soft coral, peach colour. It looks amazing on top of Myth lipstick. I will have a full review on my WL/GC lipgloss collection coming next so I won't ramble. But yeah, I love them.

Scout Cosmetics Lemon Myrtle and Papaya Cleansing Creme*: I am a lover of cream cleansers and this one is no difference. I don't use it around my eyes, but I use it for my foundations and face products and it takes it all off easily! I also find it very moisturising and nourishing on the skin, and gentle and non-stingy like some regular cleansers! I can definitely smell the Lemon Myrtle in it but I actually enjoy the scent. I seem to like "natural" scents...

Milk & Co. Ultra Light Moisturiser*: Firstly, I love the scent. It's a clean scent and I get compliments from my boyfie when I wear this so that a good sign in itself! I use this as my night moisturiser as I find it quite thick so it doesn't just disappear into the skin straight away. This has been my go-to winter moisturiser! Loooove.

Linden Leaves Lip Balm*: I am loving Linden Leaves products lately. This has been my regular lip balm this month, both morning and night! It comes in a squeezy tube which I find more convenient than a pot like other balms. It has a slight 'natural' scent, but nothing obnoxious. It's quite a thick balm so I find you need more time for it to soak in, but definitely worth it. Leaves my lips feeling lush and full!

Honourable mention to the Ardell Demi Wispies #120*! I received these mid month, and I looooove them. I have been wanting this style for ages and was so happy to get a hold of it. Looks amazing on my eyeballs! Longer on the outer corners to elongate my eyes. Looks so good when I wear winger liner (*praaaaaise*).

That's all I have so far! I love being able to share my favourites with you so hopefully you can put them on your list of products to try!

I apologise for the lack of activity in the last month or so because uni has been cray and I feel a bit swamped with life. I don't want to upload posts that aren't interesting and the quality is lacking. I hope you understand!

What are your monthly favourites? Jacquelyn xx
