Tuesday Thoughts #6 - Wedding planning, Melbourne trip and losing weight!
November 24, 2015
Hello again!
I hope the last few weeks have not been as stressful as mine have been!
I'm a graduated lady now (kinda...). I officially graduate on the 9th of December, but really I'm all done now. I finished my last exam on the 2nd of November, but I already passed the subject so I wasn't stressed at all for it - thank goodness! I'm so keen to be graduated and entering the world with two Bachelor degrees!
Um... I'm getting married! I've been engaged for a while now (two whole years actually... woops!), so we finally decided that we should probably just do it and getting hitched. Since university finished for me I've been in wedding planning OVERDRIVE. Not even kidding... I've been pinteresting so many wedding ideas and everything. We've locked in our date, venue and photographer so we are well on the way to being happily married. Further details of our nuptials will probably seep their way onto my Insty or Facebook page.
As you are reading this, I'm probably leaving Melbourne. As a little present to myself for getting my way through five years of university, I thought I would treat myself to a mini getaway to Melbourne. I left on the 20th of November and I will be returning today as this post goes live with my belly full of delicious food and happy.
Speaking of food and the wedding, I am on a mission to better myself. I have been heading to gym for the last 3 weeks at least 6 times. I can already notice the changes in my body and I cannot wait until I am at the peak of my fitness. Additionally, my diet is a million times better. Daniel and I are trying to go towards a more plant based diet as we both find we feel better and less sluggish when we do. Also no Coke - still. I think my body is actually loving me right now. Things are tightening up and looking crazy better. Happy with my progress!
Anyways, that is my life lately. I hope you guys enjoyed my little catch up :)
xx Jacquelyn

The hotter months are coming and with that comes the influx of brighter and fresher lip colours. I am a total sucker for a beautiful bright lip and I couldn't resist showing you guys my top 5 lip product picks for the Summer months! If you want to see my picks, just keep reading!
As you all (should) know by now, Sephora Australia officially has a website where those of us less fortunate and don't live near to an actual store can purchase from! Hoorah! Basically, the website was previously known as Luxola.com, but is now known as sephora.com.au (click here!!!). I was lucky enough to be contacted by their marketing team and given the opportunity to try out three of Sephora own branded line! I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to try a piece from their skincare range, their makeup line and brush collection!
If you are interested in learning more about the products and my thoughts, keep on reading!
I haven't really delved too deep into the Bite Beauty world, but I know that their products are highly raved about throughout the beauty blogging world. Bite Beauty is a really innovative brand with all the lip products created so you could technically eat them. Yes... you heard correct, eat them. They are made with food-grade ingredients, so if you were really hungry on a deserted island... you could actually nom a lipstick. If you want to hear more about the products I own from Bite Beauty and my thoughts, keep reading!
For the last month and a bit I've been using the Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser on a daily basis as my night time cleanser with my Clarisonic. I've been intrigued with Biores' entire Charcoal range since they released them not too long ago, because they are meant to cleanse "deeper" than regular cleansers. Read on if you would like to know my thoughts on the newest addition to my skincare regime!
I was super lucky to have been contacted by the Australian PR company for NYX and was given the opportunity to try out these new colour mascaras they were launching. Here are some basic deets - these mascaras can ONLY be purchased online through the Target Australia website and they retail for $12.95 OR you can get a five pack bundle like the one I have here for $39. Also, it should be noted that outside of this five pack there seems to be three more additional shades in Brown, Purple (darker than this one I believe) and a darker Blue. If you are interested in knowing my honest opinion, keep reading!
Now I've never been a skincare lover. I do the basic and barely ever adventure into the serum or fancy skincare world. I purchased the Indeed Laboratories Hydraluron serum awhile ago and have only recently starting to implement it into my nighttime skincare routine this past winter to help combat my ridiculously dry and scaly winter skin. Read on if you want to hear my thoughts about this little (expensive) squeezy tube of goodness.
So... woops. It's been a while since I've actually written a Tuesday Thoughts post and I can't really give an excuse. Sometimes trying to manage so many things in life gets a bit stressful and you really just need to take a step back and breathe.
My partner and I have been hiking all the time lately. Literally every week. I've just been feeling the weather here in Queensland and have been starting to feel more inspired and energetic. It's also a great chance for us to spend some quality couple time together without the hassle of phones or emails. We can just be us, without distractions. We've been to probably about 10 or so different locations and the Sunday just gone we hiked around the Lamington National Park and it was absolutely beautiful. I can't get over how gorgeous and lovely it was. Unfortunately I got stung, not once but twice, by those dang stingy plants. Dead, so uncomfortable. If anyone knows of really good, rainforest-y kind of hikes please leave me a comment and let me know! :)
I handed in my last assignment EVER the other day. A couple days early I might add! Basically this semester I only had two assignments and one final exam, so it's been a fairly cruisey time. Now with both assessment done, I just have the final exam to complete and then I will be graduating! OMG. Five years and the time is nearly here. What do I treat myself with? I'm thinking a Tiffany and Co. necklace?
Job applying has been getting me hella down as I keep getting knocked back or feel like there aren't any jobs that really sound like they fit me. I'm a bit torn as to what I want to do with life, but I'm hoping if I take it one day at a time I will figure something out. I'm going to be graduating with a Marketing and Information Technology degree, just FYI!
I'm getting a spa facial today, but I don't really know what is involved BUT I am keen for it. It's with Jurlique and it is to welcome in Summer and prep my skin so it looks healthy and radiant! I love getting pampered, it is such a nice feeling to feel super important for a little bit and get treated to some luxury!
True Blood has been my life lately. I used to watch True Blood back in the day and watched the first three seasons, but never bothered watching the final seasons. I figured it was time to finally put the series to bed, so I've been watching it non-stop lately. On the seventh and final season and nearly done. I feel accomplished, like I've achieved something with my life.
That's all for now guys, I hope I will be able to post a weekly Thoughts post, but I am not going to promise anything because I hate feeling guilty!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I have a moon face. My face shape is round and my cheeks are chubby. I cannot have my makeup done and NOT do something on my cheeks. Whether it be bronzer, contour or blush - I need something to give my face some actual shape so it actually resembles a humans face.
You don't have to spend a fortune to get that bronzey glow.
The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfectors Pressed have been a very hyped up product within the last year in the beauty community but I honestly wasn't ready to part with $60 for a tiny lil' highlighter. BUT I finally plucked up the courage and made the leap of faith.
So was it worth it?
OPI has just released a new collection for the Fall/Winter months in the northern hemisphere based off the beautiful European capital of Venice. The collection will introduce 12 shades to the permanent OPI range, so don't stress... you'll be able to purchase these whenever!
I was lucky enough to receive the little four pack which include both nudes and deeper colours.
I am smitten.
You may remember that I included this in my birthday wishlist a little while ago and fortunately for me, the lovely Dani from Dani The Girl XO decided to pick it up for me!
And yes, I love it.
Rimmel have been on fire lately releasing a stream of new products including the Wake Me Up Wonder'Full Mascara as well as the Brow This Way collection. I was lucky enough to receive a little selection of them and I really wanted to share my thoughts on them!
Now it is no secret I am a sucker for a peachy toned blush. I absolutely adore the colour and I find the warmth of these types of blushers really compliment my skin tone. Anyways, I wanted to do a quick post based on my current top 5 peachy coral blushers. Let jump straight in!
Luckily for me, my undereye bags and discolouration are nowhere near as bad as other bloggers I've seen. Praise the Lord. I have a bit of darkness around my eyes, but nothing that would stop me from leaving the house without makeup. In saying that I love a flawless undereye area, and these three in particular give me that Kim K sass.
I picked this up a couple months ago after much internal debating and tears. Everyone and their mums were raving about how amazing and perfect and oh my goodness this Nars ITA brush was and I could not resist any longer. It literally killed my bank account and I had buyers remorse literally the second I walked out of the Mecca doors. But is it worth it? Did I grow to love this small fortune? Keep reading...
You either love them or you hate them. The Gerard Cosmetics have long been talked about all over the beauty world and I am a fan of their lipglosses which I have already done a full blog post + lip swatches about here in case you wanted to know more about those instead! Their lipsticks have been getting a lot of hype as more and more YouTubers flog them off and keep doing collabs with them. I purchased three a couple months ago and wanted to give you guys a quick review.
Woops. So the last couple weeks I've been a bit overwhelmed with life so I haven't really been able to write up a regular Tuesday post!
Hey guys! So I have really been making a conscious effort to cull items in my skincare and makeup pile and these are my latest product empties! The last collection of empties I had I filmed, but today I just took some photos and thought I would write a quick blog post!
Leggo.
Leggo.
The original Beauty Blender has been much talked about in the beauty world within the last couple years. Praised by vloggers and bloggers alike, and honestly... I was skeptical about what this ridiculously overpriced sponge could potentially do for my face base! Retailing at approximately $20, that is a lot for something that seems exactly the same as your kitchen sponge.
But you know me! I bought it to give a try last year but never really bothered to use it until the last couple months. AND GUUUURL. I should have used it earlier.

Here is the second part to my favourite/most used brushes post! I pretty much wear eyeshadow everyday... like, everyday. So I have a fair few brushes to show you...
Just a heads up - I purchased all my Real Technique brushes, ELF products/brushes and Eco Tool brushes from iHerb! It's a fantastic site and I recommend it because of their variety and also their cheap shipping! I have made like 4 orders through them and will continue to go back! I have a code to get up to $10 off for your first order: VOW650
When these first came out a couple months ago there was so much damn hype about them! How they were comparable to the Lime Crime Velvetines and NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream. How the pink shade was crazy bright. Needless to say, I don't have the strongest willpower and I purchased the whole collection. At $9.95 each, it didn't make the biggest dent in my bank account.
I sure you know what I'm talking about. The Australis Velourlips!
Pros:
I sure you know what I'm talking about. The Australis Velourlips!
Coming in five different shades, these lip creams are labelled a highly pigmented, long wearing lip colour with a velvety matte finish on the Australis website: http://www.australiscosmetics.com.au/
I will discuss each colour and at the end I will give an overview of the entire range as a whole.
Par-Ee: This is the most neutral of the entire range. I was quite scared to get this to begin with because the colour in the tube looks quite dark and brown in colour compared to my regular nudes. When applied, however, the colour is definitely a darker nude but it looks great! I've have heard from many of this becoming their new favourite nude, so obviously a popular shade.
Mal-I-Boo: This colour is insane. A blue toned pink it's crazy bright, almost borderline fluro! I've heard a lot of praise for this colour, and I can see why. When you want a bright barbie type lip this would be perfect.
Rio-D: This picture doesn't show the true colour. It looks quite coral in the lip swatch, but it is definitely a true bright orange. Again, another intense lip colour but more unique then a pink colour.
Tok-I-O: Now this one is completely different to what a drugstore brand would release. A darker bright purple. I love this colour. I'm a sucker for purple toned lip colours lately...
Ny-Cee: A true red. It looks fantastic. Very classy. I always love myself a matte red colour over a glossy red. Another intense colour.
Swatches of all colours completely dry.
Pros:
- Opaque
- Unique colours
- Long lasting
- Doe foot applicator for easy application
- Completely matte finish
Cons:
- Patchy - does not give a smooth application
- Seeps into lines
- Sticky for quite some time at first... at least 10 minutes - if you put your lips together... its a mess.
- Wears off uneven
- Extremely drying - you will definitely need to exfoliate and throughly moisturise prior!
I do like these, but I don't think they are as "perfect" as everybody keeps on going on about. I would wear them for a short time, but the moisture from your mouth wears off the colour and your lips get crazy shrivelled and dry from them. It was an extremely good effort by an Australian drugstore brand, I hope they bring out more colours because I still plan on purchasing the rest when and if they realease more!
I'd recommend the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams over these, especially for more neutral colours.

What are your opinions on the Velourlips?
xx
If you know me, you know my favourite makeup items to collect are face powders. Highlighters, bronzers and of course, blush. I cannot help it, I think they are the most beautiful items. NEVER have I ever actually hit pan on any single blush I own.
Some of my absolute favourites blushers are those by MAC. All six of the blushers I own from them deliver in terms of pigmentation and texture. These babies will set you back anywhere between $41 to $45 in the Australian market. Do I think they are worth it? Yes!
Another week passed... another week closer to the beginning of Uni for the semester!
These arrived in my mail a couple weeks ago and I haven't been able to put one shade in particular down! I thought because I'm enjoying them I should give you guys a proper review!
I like doing these weekly post because I find it allows me to express myself and talk about what I feel and blah blah. Literally like an actual private journal. Anyways, this week wasn't too bad.
I was super lucky enough recently to attend a night at the Estee Lauder Corporate Store here in Brisbane! I've been wanting to gain access for literally over a year, and it just so happened my partner now has access and they were hosting an event where I could tag along.
The corporate store basically has a whole bunch of random MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clinque, DKNY, Estee Lauder makeup, skincare and perfume that is about 40% off RRP. This is basically a makeup lovers dream. There was a lot of LE products that are no longer being sold in stores or at counters.
I didn't buy as much as I wanted to... but I still spent lottsa money.

In order to keep me on track for my blog posts and videos I thought I would be a bit more personal with you all. I don't want to just be a beauty blogger, but I also want to share my life, thoughts, feelings and everything with you guys because I consider you all friends!
Basically I've decided to start a weekly "diary" type blog post every Tuesday (hence the name Tuesday Thoughts). This post will literally be a post on my weekly life. What's been happening, what I've been doing and my general thoughts.

As I am sitting here, doing nothing apart from wasting away my time watching endless episodes of Gossip Girl on Netflix, I thought I would make a wishlist of all the pretty things I want in my life! *open for donations for birthday* ;)
There have been so many things lately that have been catching my eye, both new releases and older products.
LET US BEGIN!

Before we get stuck into this review, I just want to say sorry for putting my blog to the back of my priorities. If you want to stay up to date with my life, you can follow me on my Instagram (my main point of contact) @heytherejacquelyn or on my YouTube (regular reviewing and tutorials) heytherejacquelyn. NOW ONTO THE REVIEW!
We all love a good face mask, and I've been dying to get my hands on the GlamGlow one... but really... I cannot afford $75 or whatever it is for the tiny little container! So after a little bit of snooping online, I came across this Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay. I read a heap of reviews saying how similar it is to the GlamGlow one, that it really does a good job of cleansing your face. I was intrigued, especially because it was HELLA CHEAP.
I've been having such an issue with my pores and blackheads, particularly on my nose. I'm at the point where I will just sit in front of the mirror and SQUEEZE to the point of tears trying to get them out!
Keep reading for some lovely close ups and my thoughts!
The other day, the lovely Emma and I were invited to experience a day of luxury at Harbour Day Spa in Cleveland, about 30 minutes from Brisbane city. We were treated to the Autumn Spa Luxury Package and boy, did it deliver!
